I'm so glad to hear that Scott Trowbridge is leaving for foreign parks. Now, I just hope he leaves Imagineering, period. He just doesn't get what makes for a great Disney land.

Ride looks boring but this video was beautifully recorded.

What does the armadillo have to do with anything? I know I should go back and read the backstories of the new characters but I don’t usually have to do homework to understand or enjoy the attractions.

Thank you Dusty for the video! I thought the scenery was nice but that's about it... I was lost as to what the actual "adventure" was. I would have liked to feel more like I was involved in the story and maybe see the characters involve the riders into adventure. I felt like I was literally just floating down a river and just a bystander. I truly don't believe I will ride this. I know it is a new ride but I think Disney needs to re-imagine this ride already

I don't think a fixed position pov could do any ride such as this justice, what with so many elements on either side.

I found the sound effects and "music" HARSH, OBNOXIOUS, RELENTLESS, and TORTURE! The only way I will get on this ride is with earplugs and anything else I can do to block out the mess of chaotic sounds!

This is one of my favorite Disney animated classics. I cannot wait to ride this. Looks amazing.

Seems curious that the idea is ‘looking for music’, when there sounds like a lot of that going on constantly, starting in the queue (not memorable tunes IMHO, maybe they are looking for Better music). Aside from shockingly poor animation, there appears to be lack of that Marc Davis character magic happening here. Disney used to excel at presenting tiny vignettes that told a whole story at a glance; sitting there just strumming along does not give these new ‘tronics any Life-story. Good luck on the merch sales from these guys. I’m not going to even get into this crazy inside-outside-daytime-nightime farm-mine-party size shifting stuff (growing, in salt?), but this cheap looking, cheesy “Welcome” signage repeated over and again is just plain lazy. I hope there are lots more dimensional fireflies and frogs than we can see in the videos filling in the blanks. Thanks again for sharing.

Sigh, I wanted to love TBA, I really did but I don’t… and I’m not waiting in line when she floats into our beloved, Disneyland 😔 But on the bright side, Disney should hire YOU next time, for any and all POV’s!

Thank you for posting this, Dusty, and for allowing us the opportunity to experience it with you. At least for Disneyland, I feel the opening of this will be much like Runaway Railway… busy for a couple months, then fading to pretty low wait-times once the Magic Key Holders have had their fill and are no longer very interested. This just doesn’t have the staying power nor emotional connection of Splash Mountain, which was loaded with humor, whimsy, and ultimately suspense… which made it FUN! It’s kinda a one-and-done for me. There are far superior attractions in the parks to experience with much more heart and story than this.

I don't want to pile on, but I wanted to add my two cents....so, what I liked: kudos to the imagineers for the detailed work with the foliage, the gen 5 animatronics and lighting packages..really, that's an artform. The queue looked thoughtful and well designed. It's nice to have a flume attraction in general..so there's always that lol... What I don't understand is that Disney claims that the 'story is the main thing' in everything they do. I'm just not connecting the dots on anything with this. What does Tiana's Foods have to do with any of this? It could have been Tiana's Used Cars or Tiana's Title Company...and the music isn't very much of anything to me. I don't see this as ever being iconic in any way. I'd would have rather they invested the money into new technology for Splash Mountain. Probably a C grade at this point.

So, what's it about? Something about a party. Something about the guests shrinking (without Monsanto) then getting big again? And a couple of child-sized drops. No exciting drops, no psycho animals screaming at you, no getting soaked. This is a hard pass. Spent all that money for nothing, IMHO.

I like the flowers and the detail in the queue area… everything else however is terrible.. boring, uninteresting and lackluster. Everything is dark, and they’re basically just shining spotlights on animatronics with flailing arms while the rest of the ride is pitch black

That was frickin awful. What a HUGE disappointment. Both Splash AND Tiana deserved better than this load of .......

The fact that Disney is NOT supplying a tram back and forth to the ship is BEYOND PATHETIC and CHEAP

I will be there for my 50th birthday at the end of May. Within the first year, but enough time to work out a few kinks. It will also be my first ever cruise. Can't wait! Definitely looks fun!

Remember that insane sequence of crying bunnies and heckling vultures, that "please don't throw me in that briar patch" tension music that kept building as you kept going up, up, up until that last drop felt so crazy epic? They used the music and ambience to build the tension to a fever pitch and then drop you; it was both scary and a relief by the time you dropped. It was great storytelling. Now it's just "go to the party" and you fall down a waterfall? They ripped out the story, downgraded the music (zip-a-dee-doo-dah, laughing place, heck the entire Splash Mountain suite is far better and just puts you in a good mood!), removed the life and vibrancy of the ride, and it's place they gave us some more foliage and update animatronics? No deal, Disney. Either maintain and update animatronics on your old rides or take the time to actually come up with a better ride before you tear down the old one. Don't destroy if you don't intend to create something better. Why would I be excited to go ride a ride that is worse than the one they built 35 years ago?

I had no expectations and they still found a way to disappoint me. YAWN. Agree with the laughing stock comment. Definitely will not be waiting in line for this.

One of the greatest reimaginings of a classic ride in the history of theme park design. Truly magical!

One begins the ride that was once Splash Mountain and finds that all the beautiful animals and their cute homes are gone and replaced with billboards of human commercialism. One enters the mountain and finds that it is now dark and all the happy animated animals in their bright world are gone, and then one soon finds the culprit, a giant fat crocodile that apparently ate them all. One follows some dark scary passages and finds an alcoholic old woman blind from diabetes and you fall into her delirium and immediately see her problem in the form of a giant liquor bottle, which leads to her liquor bottles scattered everywhere, even hanging from the ceiling. Then you drop into hell and pass a small party of drunken humans and then the damn nightmare ends and you get off the boat, with nothing memorable to take with you, not even the music.

It went from "the laughing place" to "the laughing stock".

The audio animatronics, as well as the projections, are state-of-the-art fantastic .... yet there's so much that is "empty" and it needs to be filled with Dr. Facilier (this ride looks 60% done, needs that other 40% of oomph!)

The story would have been better as a regular dark ride. People wanted to hate on the story that was in place before so this is what we get. An underwhelming story that doesn't fit the ride. We need to remember the story before was in place before the ride was built. It feels like someone trying to push a square in to a circle slot. It just didn't fit so they smashed it with a hammer to fit.

This has to be the absolutely the worst Disney attraction ever made. Way worse than those two new rat rides even and the millennium falcon video game idiocy. Whomever was responsible for this "story" needs a seriously affected annual evaluation. Horrible. LEDs on a bunch of fake plants, bad projections, and scenery that clearly cannot be in Louisiana anywhere, what have you done. 🤢
